We want to make it easy to keep track of how information around coronavirus is being spread on social media. So we built a series of Live Displays, customized to different regions globally, with real-time streams of COVID-19-related posts from public Pages and accounts.
Each Live Display features post streams sorted by relevant keywords and public accounts to each region. This includes content from local media organizations, regional World Health Organization Pages, public groups, government agencies, local politicians, and more.
These are public and can be viewed by anyone. We want to provide as much transparency into how this content is being discussed across Facebook, Instagram and Reddit as possible.
Each Global Live Display has a standard set of columns which are defined below:
Column 1: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by global public Facebook pages.
Column 2: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by global media pages.
Column 3: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by breaking news post type.
Column 4: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by Facebook Live post type.
Column 5: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by global public Instagram accounts.
Column 6: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by World Health Organization pages.
Column 7: COVID-19 or vaccine related keywords translated into top languages and filtered by global Reddit threads.
Each Live Display for countries has a standard set of columns which are defined below:
Column 1: COVID-19 and vaccine related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Pages from media in the specified country
Column 2: Vaccine related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Facebook Pages who have admins located in the country; Vaccine related keywords translated into the top languages spoken plus the name of the country (example: vaccine AND Italia) filtered by public Instagram accounts.
Column 3: COVID-19 and Vaccine related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Groups located in the country
Column 4: COVID-19 related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Pages who have admins located in the country
Column 5: COVID-19 related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Pages of politicians, elected officials and political parties in the country
Column 6: COVID-19 related keywords translated into the top languages spoken filtered by public Pages of government ministries in the country
Column 7: All content from the WHO regional account on Facebook and Instagram (where applicable; some WHO regional offices only have a Facebook account)
Column 8: COVID-19 related keywords translated into the top languages spoken plus the name of the country (example: covid-19 AND Italia) filtered by public Instagram accounts
Each Live Display for US states has a standard set of columns which are defined as:
Column 1: COVID-19 and vaccine related keywords filtered by public Pages and Instagram accounts from media in the specified state or territory
Column 2: Vaccine related keywords filtered by State and territory-level public community Pages and Instagram accounts, such as colleges and universities, government agencies, and sports teams.
Column 3: COVID-19 and Vaccine related keywords filtered by public Groups located in the state or territory.
Column 4: COVID-19 related keywords filtered by State and territory-level public community Pages and Instagram accounts, such as colleges and universities, zoos, and sports teams.
Column 5: COVID-19 related keywords filtered by public Pages and Instagram accounts of State-level government agencies.
Column 6: COVID-19 related keywords filtered by public Pages of State-level first responders
Column 7: COVID-19 related keywords filtered by public Pages and Instagram accounts of the State's elected officials.
Column 8: COVID-19 related keywords filtered by State-related subreddits.
*COVID-19 keywords for US states are in English, Spanish and traditional and simplified Chinese.
