The El Salvador 2021 Elections Live Display has a standard set of columns, which are defined below:

FACEBOOK

  • Column 1: Content from Facebook accounts from candidates for the National Congress, PARLACEN, and municipalities including for the Mayor of San Salvador.

  • Column 2: Content from Facebook accounts from political parties in El Salvador.

  • Column 3: Content from Facebook accounts belonging to media outlets from the region.

INSTAGRAM

  • Column 4: Content from Instagram accounts from candidates for the National Congress, PARLACEN, and municipalities including for the Mayor of San Salvador.

  • Column 5: Content from Instagram accounts from political parties in El Salvador. Column 6: Content from Instagram accounts belonging to media outlets from the region.

FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM

  • Column 7: Content from Facebook and Instagram that include the name of any candidate.

  • Column 8: Content from Facebook and Instagram that matched keywords related or relevant to the election (e.g. “elecciones legislativas”)

  • Column 9: Content from Facebook and Instagram that matched keywords related or relevant to the political issues (e.g. “Acuerdos de paz”)

  • Column 10: Content from Facebook and Instagram that matched the names or abbreviations for political parties (e.g. “ARENA”)

  • Column 11: Content from Facebook and Instagram that matched keywords related or relevant to the voting, voter suppression or voter fraud (e.g. “vota dos veces”)
